Statement on Circumference release!

9th December 2024:
Fans, music lovers, friends, and my valued media partners, Good evening!
I greet you in the name of Allah,
 
Thanks for responding to our call; we don’t take this for granted.
As you very well know, I’m Bebe Cool.
And today I stand before you to announce the beginning of a new dawn, not for only Bebe Cool or Uganda, but for Africa as a continent.
 
Why do we call this a new dawn? There is a Bebe Cool you may be used to, a Bebe Cool whose music has raised you.
 
Well, that Bebe Cool is evolving musically, but will stay extremely relevant to the times and trends, and as well appeal to even a larger audience.
On Friday, December 13th, I will release the first single off my new album- Break The Chains. The single is titled Circumference.
 
Circumference boosts a futuristic sound that challenges what is expected of an Ugandan song.
 
Creating Circumference and the rest of the music on this album, was a process, myself and the team; both in Uganda, and other parts of the country, handled carefully and very professionally.
 
It is a creative process that came with so much appreciation of African music, diverse sounds, trends, and the people.
 
As you very well know, I have always been deliberate about creating good and memorable music. I believe you will appreciate the time and energy myself and the team dedicated to making this music.
 
If anyone is out there asking, “Why now?!”
Let me make this very clear—I’ve got absolutely nothing to prove. Not politically. Not culturally. Not financially. And certainly not musically.

I’m doing this purely out of love. I have challenged myself to push boundaries with a new sound and professionalism that sets the bar where it should be.
This is an exciting time for the Ugandan music industry, because I’m here to set a new standard—the standard—of what it means to be an African music legend.

My media friends, I am here to let you know, that going forward, it is not going to be business as usual.

I hope that when you listen to Circumference, you’ll not only hear the music, but also feel the raw energy and vulnerability that went into its production.
It’s a piece of me, and it’s been such an incredible experience to bring that side of me to life.
I enjoy singing about and for the people; thus, Circumference is a song that appreciates our beautiful and lovely women.
Circumference drops this Friday, and will be available on all streaming platforms.
